Maria Estella Varela, LPT
Maria Estella Varela, LPT graduated from University of Rosario in 1986. She began her private practice in Colombia for four years exclusively in pediatrics. In 1990 she continued her practice in the United States of America in different areas, which included primarily neurology, cerebral palsy, spinal injuries, amputations, orthopedics, and pediatrics. In the last ten years, she has focused on pediatrics, hospital practice, in-home services, and school systems.
Currently, her private practice is done with a group of professionals of Pediatric Helping Hands Therapy. With a variety of pathologies like autism, genetic disorders, torticollis, cerebral palsy, gait abnormalities, developmental disabilities, and spinal deformities. Maria has practiced in extensive trainings like NDT; Myofascial Release; Mobilization Techniques of Cranial-Sacral; Masgutoga Method; Visual Techniques; Brain Gym; yoga; casts in series and taping techniques; manufactured splints for lower limb and postural support; cervical collars elastic support for trunk and extremities; fabrication of inserts; and splints. Like a fundamental base for her work group, she counts in the active participation of a multi-disciplinary group and the use of appropriate selected techniques for each individual patient.
